Season III

Season 3 unfolds across eleven projects, each tracing a distinct path through Failaka’s layered terrains, its civilizational echoes, shifting shorelines, and the quiet pulse of its biosphere. Together, they weave stories that move between myth and memory, the real and the imagined, grounding artistic practice in the rhythms of the island itself.

This season welcomes researchers, artists, and storytellers whose works span film, photography, writing, and visual art, expanding FIKAR’s constellation of voices. Two new grants, the Publication Grant and the Audioguide Grant, aim to enable the creation of significant contributions to the understanding of the island’s histories and futures

Season 3 presents an impressive collection of artistic, technical and research-based approaches to the study celebration and re-imagining of the island of Failaka.
